Unclaimed Capital Credits

If you wish to come to one of our office locations, there are three locations: Sumter EMC Headquarters, 1120 Felder Street, Americus, GA (Mon - Fri 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.), the Southern District Office, 133 Century Road West, Leesburg, GA (Mon - Fri 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 - 5 p.m.), and the Cusseta District Office, 300 A US 520, Cusseta Crossing, Cusseta, GA, (Mon - Fri 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 - 5 p.m.).

In compliance with O.C.G.A. §44-12-236 of The Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act, Sumter EMC is attempting to locate former members whose capital credit checks were issued in May 2019, but which have been returned by the U.S. Post Office as “undeliverable” or have otherwise been unclaimed.  The last possible date to claim these funds is October 21, 2024. If these funds are not claimed by this date, they will be donated for charitable uses, as permitted by O.C.G.A. §44-12-236.
