What is the Bright Ideas program? 

Bright Ideas is a grant program that supports Georgia-certified teachers in bringing exceptional educational experiences to life. Sumter EMC funds projects beyond the standard curriculum, inspiring students and enriching their learning journey. 

Grant Details: 

  • Funding range: A minimum of $500 to a maximum of $1,500 

  • Eligible grades: Pre-K through 12th grade 

  • Service area: 11 counties (listed below) 

Bright Ideas seeks projects that: 

  1. Encourage teamwork and collaboration 

  1. Have clear, measurable learning outcomes 

  1. Directly engage students 

  1. Provide lasting educational benefits 

Eligibility: 

Teachers must work in schools within Sumter EMC’s service area, including Chattahoochee, Dougherty, Lee, Marion, Quitman, Randolph, Schley, Stewart, Sumter, Terrell, and Webster counties. 

Important Dates: 

  • Applications open: August 1, 2024 

  • Application Deadline: September 20, 2024 

  • Awards given: First week of November

  • Photos and/or videos 

  • Detailed explanation of the project’s implementation and impact
