Sumter EMC offers surge protection solutions to help safeguard your home and electronic devices from sudden voltage spikes caused by lightning or other disruptions. 

Members can install meter-based surge protectors and are encouraged to use point-of-use protectors for sensitive electronics.

Meter-based home protection is just $5.95/month and installation is FREE! 

The meter-based surge protection only protects motor-driven appliances within the dwelling when a surge passes through the surge protector. Visit tesco-online.com to see a detailed list of items covered.

The meter-based surge protection does not prevent or protect from direct lightning strikes or electrical service interruptions. For this meter-based surge protection to be installed, the electrical service will be briefly interrupted.

A utility representative must determine that the proper external grounding system is in place before installing the surge protector. The meter-based surge protection shall be installed or removed only by a designated representative of Sumter EMC.

Sumter EMC also offers hard-wired pump protection for an additional $5.95/month.
