Sumter EMC Hosts Graduation for Youth Leadership Program
AMERICUS, Ga. - Sumter Electric Membership Corporation (Sumter EMC) recently held a graduation ceremony celebrating the 2024–2025 cohort of its Youth Leadership Experience. The event highlighted the accomplishments and personal growth of the participating students. Twelve students from across Sumter EMC’s service territory—including Sumter, Schley, Lee, Marion, Stewart, Terrell, and Chattahoochee counties—were recognized for their commitment and participation in the program. During the ceremony, students reflected on their journey, sharing stories with parents, educators, Sumter EMC employees, and community supporters. Their remarks emphasized the leadership skills gained, meaningful connections formed, and the lasting impact of the experience.
This year’s graduating class included: Anaya Ansley (Marion County High School), Ethan Beck (Southland Academy), Abbie Grace Cheek (Schley County High School), Cadence Dockery (Southland Academy), Laura Cate Harris (Southland Academy), Wimberly Hines (Southland Academy), Daniel Madden (Southland Academy), Annalea Massey (Terrell Academy), Joshua McCain (Chattahoochee County High School), Amillya Simmons (Southland Academy), Olivia Vanderwalt (Lee County High School), and Stephanya Woodson (Sumter County High School).
