The Sumter EMC Foundation recently awarded Southland Academy a grant for $5,000.00 to help fund their security system project. For over 50 years, Southland has been offering the highest quality educational experience to the youth of Sumter County and surrounding areas. Providing a safe and secure environment for its students and faculty has always been a top priority. Unfortunately, in the world we live in today, the issue of safety has become even more concerning. Southland plans to implement extra security measures, such as additional cameras and remote access to external doors and gates to ensure proper protection for the students, faculty, and visitors on campus.
“Involvement in the communities we serve is one of the seven guiding principles that governs the way Sumter EMC operates. Contributing to the enhancement of security for Southland Academy’s campus to provide a safe learning environment for our future community leaders is something Sumter EMC is proud to be a part of,” said Andrea Walker, Sumter EMC Foundation Chariman.
