Southland Academy received a $5,000 grant from the Sumter EMC Foundation. The grant will fund the purchase of 22 new Chromebooks and a mobile computer cart with charging stations. Chromebooks offer a user-friendly platform tailored for education. They enable students to conduct research, complete assignments, and collaborate more efficiently on projects. The mobile cart's charging capabilities ensure the devices remain powered throughout the school day.

This technology upgrade will enhance classroom learning by giving students greater access to online resources and digital tools to support their coursework and skill development. The mobile cart will allow teachers to integrate technology seamlessly across different classrooms and subjects. Reliable, up-to-date technology is essential for creating an engaging, future-ready learning environment. The new Chromebooks and mobile cart will empower Southland students and teachers with innovative digital resources.

Andrea Walker, Chairman of the Foundation, aptly stated, "Southland Academy's mission to provide an exceptional education aligns with our Foundation's goal of investing in our local youth. We proudly support their technology integration efforts and enhance digital learning opportunities." This grant underscores Sumter EMC's commitment to empowering their communities through strategic investments in educational tools and resources, and we look forward to continuing this fruitful partnership.
