Schley County Middle High School received a $3,000 grant from the Sumter EMC Foundation. The grant will support the school's movie team by funding the purchase of production and film equipment.
The Georgia Movie Academy, a beloved extracurricular program, offers students a comprehensive exploration of the art of filmmaking. Thanks to the new equipment generously provided by the Sumter EMC Foundation, their movie team can now access cutting-edge, industry-standard tools. This will empower them to push the boundaries of their creativity and take their projects to unprecedented heights.
The grant funds will help purchase a high-quality camera, a green screen, filming gear, and an iMac computer. These resources will enhance the movie team's current projects and open new opportunities for more ambitious and visually captivating productions.
"At the Sumter EMC Foundation, we are committed to investing in educational programs that foster creativity and skill development," stated Andrea Walker, the foundation's Chairman. "We are delighted to support Schley County Middle High School's movie team with this grant, giving students the tools to bring their artistic visions to life. This aligns perfectly with our mission, and we are excited to see its impact on the students' learning journey."
