Across the Map Missions & Ministries, a local non-profit organization serving those in need received a $2,120 grant from the Sumter EMC Foundation. The grant will fund the purchase of essential equipment and storage solutions for the organization's clothing closet and food pantry.
Acquiring new shelving units, storage containers, carts, and hand trucks will enhance the operational efficiency and organization of Across the Map's resource center and directly benefit the community. This improved infrastructure will enable volunteers to better sort, store, and distribute donated clothing, non-perishable food items, and other goods, serving more individuals and families facing economic hardships.
The grant funding is instrumental in creating an organized and accessible environment within the clothing closet and food pantry. The new equipment will maximize space utilization and ensure a dignified shopping experience for clients seeking assistance.
"Across the Map Missions & Ministries plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity and providing essential resources to our community's most vulnerable populations," said Andrea Walker, Chairman of the Sumter EMC Foundation. "We are honored to contribute to their efforts and help enhance the operational capabilities of their clothing closet and food pantry."
Through the unwavering support of our community and strategic partnerships, Across the Map Missions & Ministries can extend its reach and offer a compassionate helping hand to those facing challenging circumstances. This grant is a testament to the power of community collaboration in making a positive difference in our neighbors' lives.
